Summer Daydream

Let’s rewind back to the year 2018… I went on a beautiful life changing vacation/ adventure to South Africa! When I say this place changed my life, I really mean it on so many levels! The nature, the humble and beautiful people and the vibe. 

It was the perfect place to create! No distractions, no noise. Just life and beautiful nature and animals I’m seeing for the first time in their natural environment. 

I wrote a medley out there and it was under the working title Africa Medley. It had like 3 songs in it and was a staple of my shows back in 2018 to 2019 ish. Right around the time when I started doing music full time. If you didn’t know, I used to do lawn care before being a full time music artist/ producer and engineer. 

Back in 22 I revisited the Africa Medley and the first part of it “Summer Daydream” really spoke to me. I instantly recorded it and slapped it on my 5th record Rising. It’s the first song on the LP

Long story short, I wasn’t happy with how the recording sounded. I felt like it could have been done better. I recorded that whole album out of my basement home studio and it was all recorded on Garage Band. 

With all the new knowledge, gear and wisdom I have today, I know I really captured the true essence of the song with the recording you will hear on the 2025 version.

Music is my truth and this song means a lot to me because of the profound impact the writing process had on me in Africa. I think the words to the song were already something I was toying around with before the trip. So the song isn’t necessarily about Africa but the essence of it is captured in the song! I know you’ll dig it.
